RCT comparing ivermectin + SOC vs. HCQ + SOC, showing a significant reduction in mortality with ivermectin. Mortality relative risk:RR 0.11, p = 0.12 (mild/moderate cases)
RR 0.1, p < 0.001 (severe cases)The HCQ dose is relatively low and may be too low to reach therapeutic levels. This paper also reports a prophylaxis study [1].
Effect extraction follows pre-specified rules prioritizing more serious outcomes. For an individual study the most serious outcome may have a smaller number of events and lower statistical signficance, however this provides the strongest evidence for the most serious outcomes when combining the results of many trials.
